Check Out The Model Railroad Display

Go check out the Schuylkill Valley Model Railroad Club’s (SVMRRC) awesome display this Saturday, January 9th at 1:00 PM. The trains will be running until 5:00 PM and this is a neat thing for the whole family to go see.

Founded in 1968, the SVMRRC has been welcoming guests to view their highly detailed HO model since back in 1975. They only open their doors to the public for 5 weekends out of the year, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity!

Guests will be able to see and hear freight and passenger trains that are guided by diesel or steam engines on over 700 feet of track. There are 4 different railroads on the 1,000-plus square foot 1/87 scale model – along with hundreds of buildings, people, trees, and vehicles which come together to make very realistic scenes.

As a bonus, there are numerous buttons that everyone can press to bring different scenes to life. They also incorporate a scavenger hunt for those with keen observation skills. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. Plus, they are holding 2 drawings in December and January in which you could win a train set of your own!

The remaining dates to come and see the model are as follows:

Sat & Sun: Jan. 9 – 10
Sat & Sun: Jan. 16 – 17
Sat & Sun: Jan. 23 – 24
