The Dogwood Festival is Fast Approaching

The Dogwood Festival in Phoenixville Pennsylvania.

Spring is in the air and the Dogwood Festival is just around the corner. This means fun games, delicious food, great rides, and exciting events.

Starting Saturday, be sure to catch the Dogwood Pageant at the Samuel K. Barkley Elementary School. The pageant begins at 7:00 PM and advance tickets are available until Friday for $12. Tickets will be $15 at the door on the day of the event. As always, the pageant will decide who will be our Dogwood Queen for the festival.

The festival itself will begin this year on May 12th and run through May 17th. The 2014 Dogwood Parade will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 1:00 PM and entries are still being accepted. This year awards will be given out for the best senior band, dance/twirling/cheering group, automobile over 25 years old, best float, and fire company.

There are 19 great rides slated to be operating during the festival that run the gamut from tame to thrilling. Notably, Monday, May 12th and Wednesday, May 14th will both be Family Nights where a $25 wristband gets you unlimited rides for the night. Also, don’t forget the Prince & Princess Contest. Children ages 5 to 8 can enter and the winners will be given a crown, a sash, and be in the Dogwood Parade. All children will get a participation certificate and a bag of treats that includes ride tickets.

The Dogwood Festival is being sponsored by some great companies, including CENTURY 21 Norris-Valley Forge. For additional information, visit the official Dogwood Festival website by clicking here.
