Caribbean Festival in Philadelphia

This Sunday, August 17th head over to the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia for some authentic Caribbean Island Entertainment. This free festival will allow you to enjoy a wide variety of music, Caribbean fashion, and exotic foods.

The 28th Annual Philadelphia Caribbean Festival will feature reggae, soca, cool jazz, roots international beat, hip-hop, gospel, and creative dance for everyone to experience. This is a superb event that the whole family can enjoy. Immerse yourself in Caribbean culture brought to you by the PECO Multicultural Series while seeing performers like the Image Band – an internationally known group. Other highlights include:

Timi Tanzania – Universal Greetings and a tribute to Marcus Garvey
Sistah Mafalda & the Kuumba Dancers – drumming and dance performace
FullJoy Band
De Tierra Caliente Latin Band
(Salsa)
David Watkins (Spoken word)
Faith & Favor Band (Gospel)
Mr. Rob Diesel (Reggae)
J West Project (Jazz)
DJ Scripture (Devotional opening)
Kenny Sykes (Saxophone – National Anthem)
Philly PanStars (Steel drum band)

There will be plenty of great booths and even a Caribbean Children’s Village. The event will also help to raise scholarship funds for students of Caribbean descent.
